Welcome to Infophilia, a weekly newsletter about the human love of information. This is one of the places where I’m pioneering a positive, evolutionary social psychology of information, an avant-garde research project. I am shining a light to deepen our understanding for living well. If this is your first time, I am glad to have you here. Check out the Archive, starting with Infophilia and the Dopamine Connection (Sept. 15, 2023). Welcome back everybody else! As always, thanks for reading.

"I'd do it again 1,000 times." – Sergio Florian

In a heartwarming twist of fate, ultra-runner Sergio Florian's routine training run turned into a heroic rescue mission. He stumbled upon a lost and injured dog, Stevie, stranded ~800 to 1,000 feet up the cliffs on a treacherous trail on the island of Oahu. With sheer determination, Sergio held the dog with his left hand, selfie stick in his right, and braved the dangerous cliffs on his way down, bringing Stevie to safety.
